PIONEERS OF THE IYENGAR YOGA METHOD.
Colleen began practicing yoga in her early 20’s to find relief for severe spinal pain after being hit by a car while on a run. In 1985 Colleen was introduced to the Iyengar method. Understanding alignment in the asana realigned her body and the pain subsided and through time disappeared. After years of consistent practice, Colleen has not just seen physical change but also growth and change mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Wanting to share her love of the Iyengar method, Colleen began her teacher training and became certified in 1994 while eventually obtaining her senior intermediate certification. Colleen has mentored many local teachers who are now certified and wonderful teachers in their own right.
Colleen has traveled numerous times to India to study with the Iyengar family and has studied with some of the top senior teachers in the USA, especially Patricia Walden since 1993. Colleen has 4 children and resides in Delray Beach with her husband, David.
